Naj Phonghanyudh

currently teaches printmaking and lectures on art practices at Department of Applied Arts Studies, Faculty of Decorative Arts, Silpakorn University, Thailand. Parallel to her academic works, she is a professional artist, and sometimes designer for social causes and her own little scarf business.

Apart from her central focus in art making which are inspired by personal history reflecting perspectives on how beauty influences individuality,  her interests also lies in history - architectural and cultural - which became the core  in  some of her visual art experiment projects.  Elements from Thai traditions and culture, along with the theory of impermanence somehow sneak through the  surfaces of her canvases, real and digital.

Having trained on ephemeral media such as printmaking, the characters of spontaneous drawing in fleeting moments, the feelings of papers and unique smells of things are resonates in her works.
